Fire Alarm Control Panels

The control panel (fire station) is an integral part of fire detection and fire alarm system, which is intended to supply and supervise the work of other system components. It receives and processes signals from fire detection devices, establishes operating modes of the system triggers audible and light signals, but also can inform the remote alarm center and to store information about events that occurred. Through specialized software control panel can be configured to react a certain way and to perform specific functions in the new event.

The control panel is powered by the AC network, Integratedfirealarms but requires a backup power supply that provides the system with power cuts. Most often it is secured by two pieces of 12 V batteries. Additional power supply can be placed in the panel itself or to be configured as a separate unit, which is suitable especially for larger systems with significant overall consumption.

Four access levels are available when working with fire detection panel, enabling different rights to different operators to monitor, configure and change system settings. Access Level 1 is with the smallest rights, while in level 4 all possible operations are permitted. Log in into a given level is protected by password, Raffolux which should be different for different levels if other operators are allowed to work with the system.

Fire station indicate the status of FDS after processing the signals from the devices in the system defined by developed algorithms. According to most of todays standards scanning, signal processing and decision making for fire alarm signaling must take place in no more than 10 seconds.

The following are possible modes of the system:

• Normal state (Normal / Quiescent condition)

• Fire (Fire)

• Failure (Fault)

• Exclusion devices / functions (Disablement)

• Verification (Test)

Fire station state may be a combination of two modes, except the first. Modes are indicated by light indicators in green (normal), red (fire) or yellow (“Damage”), port32marcoislandboatrentals accompanied by a short text on their individual conditions.

In regimes “Fire” and “Damage”, audible alarms can be triggered, derived from the panel itself (built-in buzzer) or included in the system of sirens / bells fire. It may be the same for fire and technical failure. If the system includes strobe / flash lamps, they are also triggered. Sound and lighting equipment can be excluded by the corresponding button for attenuation, which becomes active after the entry into any of the access levels.

For control panels that support light indication of areas, zone / zones in alarm mode are indicated by the LED indicators on the panel. If the fire station has a display, the zones in alarm state are indicated by text message. When is “Fire” mode, the panel goes back to normal function after setting the “Reset”, which in most cases is active in the push-button available for access level 2 and higher.

The control panel can send alarm signals to a remote observation center – security company or Fire Department. This is done through various enhancements – dialer, port32capecoralboatrentals modem or Ethernet module. These devices use different methods for data transfer – modem dialer use the phone line, Ethernet module – a local computer network or the Internet.

In order to check the system for alarm received – whether there is really a fire or malfunction, or a false bedding, there is an option for certain sub-modes – time delay and confirmation of alarm.

In sub-mode “time delay”, there is a time delay for the system going in “Fire” mode, in order to perform a system check and only then light and sound alarm devices are activated. In case of fire detected by human, fire alarm can be activated by pressing one of the manual fire detectors or by operator with lowest access level.

Sub-mode “Confirmation of alarm” allows bedded in a detector system to be confirmed by the same or a different detector in the area and only then to put the fire detection system in “Fire” mode. This sub-mode is also possible in the “cross zoning” method (crossing of two cable lines with detectors), where the “Fire” mode is activated after the simultaneous or within a certain range of bedding devices on both lines.
